OXFORD COUNTY CRISIS RESPONSE – OCCR
OCCR provides county wide emergency out-patient mental health services on a 24/7 basis at agency offices, hospitals and other locations.

AFTERCARE
Aftercare services are a maximum of 5 sessions that are focused on resolving the problems identified in the first contact with OCCR staff. These sessions are part of crisis resolution services and commence with the “day after” telephone call or office visit with the Aftercare Counselor.

ASSESSMENT & STABILIZATION UNIT – THE JANE DEFREES HEALTH CENTER
The Assessment and Stabilization Unit, located in the Jane deFrees Health Center at 150 Congress St. in Rumford, is an in-patient alternative to hospital admission. The person receives a full assessment of their needs with a goal of returning home within 5 to 7 days. The emphasis is on rehabilitation. This is a fully modern ADA facility with fully qualified staff.

ANDY’S PLACE
Andy’s Place, located at 150 Congress Street in Rumford, is a community residence and rehabilitation program for people suffering from chronic and persistent mental illness. Long and short term goals are developed with the resident so they can participate in community living to the extent of their ability, assisted by staff in a caring and supportive manner.

CASE MANAGEMENT PROGRAM
Case Managers at OCMHS help consumers organize and access their needed resources to fully participate in community living. An Individualized Support Plan (ISP) is developed within 30 days. This identifies the consumer’s needs and goals and helps them organize their resources to assist in community integration.

The In Home Support Services (DLSS) Program staff provide defined “in the home” services to people age 21 or older to enhance their independence in their lifestyle. The focus may be upon independent/transitional living skills, assistance with the activities of daily living (ADL’s), social and behavior management skills, organizational skills and the normalization of their lifestyle in the community. DLSS staff will assess the consumer’s needs within the context of their living environment and provide needed services that may range from 1 to 16 hours per day, seven days a week.

Psychiatry Services are available to clients of this agency. The goal is to help the client improve how they manage their illness and help them remain in the community.
To access this program, clients should be in Case Management and/or Out Patient Therapy services from a service provider. Usually, clients receiving this service have a history of psychiatric hospitalization and/or a chronic and disabling mental health problem.

OUT PATIENT THERAPY - ADULTS AND CHILDREN
Out Patient Therapy offers a planned number of sessions that can be individual, group or family therapy. The focus is on the person developing insight into their life and developing new, more effective ways of thinking, feeling and acting so they can achieve their potential for a well balanced lifestyle.

Beacon House is a drop-in style social club and peer support center for adults who may have mental health or any kind of physical or emotional challenge. It is directed by consumers, it offers a relaxed atmosphere with support and socialization. Consumers are welcomed and treated with respect and dignity. It is open every day except Thanksgiving and Christmas. The Club is open Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Coffee and canteen service is always available and lunch is available each Tuesday at noon for a cost of $1.00. There is a small membership fee to become a member of the club. It is $1.00 a month or $10.00 for the year. This membership fee is to help defer the costs of running the club. Come see us at the Beacon House and find out that there are a lot of good friendly people just waiting to invite you in.
